Sue Watkins and Rob’s wife, Laurel, have asked me to post this
message here from Sue about Rob’s death:

Dear Folks,

As some of you may have heard, Robert F. Butts passed away just
before 3 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, May 26, 2008, with his
wife Laurel Butts at his side, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Elmira, New
York, after a brief illness. He would have been 89 in June.

Up until a few weeks before his death, Rob was active and busy with
his many projects, deeply involved as he was all his life with
painting, writing, and directing the ongoing publication of the Seth
material and the related lifework he co-created with his late wife
Jane Roberts, who died in 1984. Laurel told me that Rob died
peacefully, as she held him, and that she knows Jane was there also,
as he made the transition from this reality to all that lies beyond.

Laurel has arranged an inclusive service for Rob as well as for
Jane, scheduled for Monday, June 2nd, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the
Lake Church, 5823 Wallworth-Ontario Road, in Ontario, New York, a
small town just east of Rochester, N.Y. Other arrangements are
pending.

I am grateful to Laurel for holding the phone to Rob’s ear a few
hours before he died so I could talk with him one last time. As I’ve
written elsewhere, he and Jane were not only my friends but something
even more than mentors to me –they were my psychic parents, the
pivotal figures in the development of my creative abilities in this
life, and very likely in other lifetimes as well. My heart goes out
to Laurel, who is in my thoughts every day.

-Sue Watkins.

“Dear Sethian friends,

I just got informed that Rob Butts died on Monday (May 26th) of cancer.

Many of you could already know this, but just in case I wanted to share
the information.
Although we all know that Rob just went to another reality, I’ll express
Laurel my condolences. I just need to thank Rob for everything he has
given us. Without him not a single sentence of Seth would have reached
us outside of the States and we would have had a completely different life.

I hope all is well with you.

The experiment that would transform your world would operate upon the basic idea that you create your own reality according to the nature of your beliefs, and that all existence was blessed, and that evil did not exist in it. If these ideas were followed individually and collectively, then the evidence of your physical senses would find no contradiction. They would perceive the world and existence as good. This is the experiment that has not been tried, and these are the truths that you must learn after physical death.

‘‘Then, without preamble, Seth gave us the dream hint that had tripped my warning bells:

‘‘During the week, before you sleep, tell yourself – if you want to – that you will have a ‘True Dream from the Gates of Horn’,’’ he said. ‘‘Now, that is an ancient suggestion, given by the Egyptians: The Gates of Horn. I do not want to tell you what it means yet, simply to ask you to give yourselves the suggestion – those of you who want to! – for a True Dream, that will help harmonize the portions of your being. That is part of the suggestion! Ask for a True Dream that comes from the Gates of Horn, [and] that will help harmonize the portions of your being.’’

Using age as an example now, it may seem to you that you are a given age, that within your subjective experience it must be paramount, that regardless of your age you are to some extent closed off from the experience of being any other age. In some simultaneous existences you are very young, however, and in others very old. Some of your physical cells are brand new, so to speak - the regeneration of fresh life is physically within you; in your terms this is true not only until your death but even after it, when your hair and nails can still grow. Identify then with the constantly new energy alive within you in this now of your being (very intently) and realize that on all levels you are biologically and psychologically connected with that greater identity that is your own.
You may take a break.
